Types of Centrifuge Tubes
1. According to the size
Ordinary centrifuge tube (50mL, 15mL)
Microcentrifuge tubes (2mL, 1.5mL, 0.65mL, 0.2mL)
2. According to the bottom shape
Conical centrifuge tubes, with a tapered bottom, are the most used type of centrifuge tubes
Round bottom centrifuge tube
3. According to the way the lid is closed
Gland centrifuge tube, a centrifuge tube sealed by pressing, commonly found in microcentrifuge tubes
Screw cap centrifuge tubes can be divided into flat caps (the top of the cap is flat) and plug caps (the top of the cap has a plug shape)
4. According to the material
Plastic centrifuge tube, glass centrifuge tube, steel centrifuge tube
What do Centrifuge Tubes do?
The
centrifuge tube is a tubular sample container used for the separation and preparation of biological samples. It is made of high-quality transparent polymer material polypropylene (PP), and the specifications are 1.5ml/2ml microcentrifuge tube, 15ml/50ml Centrifuge tube. The huge centrifugal force provided by the high-speed rotation of the centrifuge makes the tiny particles in the liquid (such as cell organelles, precipitation of biological macromolecules, etc.) settle at a certain speed, thereby being separated from the solution. Centrifuge tubes are mainly used for the separation and preparation of various biological samples, meeting the requirements of biological analysis grade.
