There are two physical Agilent Compatible Tips principles of pipette filling: filling with an air cushion and filling with a positive piston movement without an air cushion. These two different principles of micropipettes have their own different specific areas of application. The pipette should be maintained regularly according to the frequency of use, but at least once every 3 months, check the pipette for dust and dirt, pay special attention to its mouth cone. The inside of the pipette needs to be cleaned for long-term maintenance and must be disassembled by trained and qualified personnel.
During the use of precision pipettes, users must strictly follow the operating specifications, so that operations such as liquid extraction and pipetting can be completed more quickly and accurately, and damage to the instrument due to improper operation should be avoided, especially during pipetting. When taking viscous or volatile liquids, for this type of liquids, you need to pre-wet the inside of the tip with liquid, and you can stay for a few minutes longer when absorbing or discharging liquid. The following mistakes should be avoided throughout the process:
1. Select the tip that matches the pipette model. When installing the tip of the pipette, avoid using too much force, so that the tip cannot be removed.
2. The pipette should be used vertically to avoid skewing itself, which may cause deviations in pipetting. During the pipetting process, the pipette should be sucked slowly and released slowly. If the pipette is sucked too fast, air bubbles will be generated, and the liquid will immerse into the inside of the pipette and cause corrosion of components.
3. Do not place the pipette directly on the workbench, or place it randomly, especially when there is liquid remaining in the tip, the device should be hung on a special shelf.
4. After use, press the push rod of the suction head with your thumb and press down. After the suction head is withdrawn safely, adjust its capacity to the maximum value marked, and then hang the device on the special rack.
5. According to the volume of the liquid to be pipetted, select the appropriate model to improve work efficiency and accuracy.
6. After pipetting acids or solutions with corrosive vapors, remove the sleeve and clean the piston and sealing ring with distilled water. Do not lubricate the piston and sealing ring with grease.
7. If the equipment will not be used for a long time, it should be placed in a special box, and the pipette that has been disassembled and washed or has not been used for a long time needs to be calibrated before use again.
